Offered in the spring of 2022 for the first time in Quebec on the occasion of the launch of the Prescri-Nature program, which integrates exposure to Nature as a new pillar of health in Quebec, this training is open to all. No previous training is required.
Based on the latest scientific discoveries, this one month training will give you a simple step by step manual to learn how to do therapeutic sensory immersions in Nature by yourself:
- for all ages: from 14 to 99 years old;
- It doesn’t matter if you have 20, 30, 45 minutes or even more than an hour at a time;
- It doesn’t matter if you are in your garden, in a city park, or in a forest
In a hybrid format (live online), this training will teach you the basics of proven health benefits with certified trainers who will follow you step by step in the creation of a therapeutic forest bathing practice (also called individual therapeutic shinrin yoku).
Therapeutic forest bathing provides a deep connection to Nature, one of the most powerful practices for maximizing health benefits during exposure to Nature time.
The result is a pleasant and profound experience with benefits on 4 levels: emotional (e.g. positivity, vitality), physiological (e.g. stress, cardiovascular, immune), cognitive (e.g. executive focus, intuition) and social (e.g. empathy, listening, respect, trust).
It should be noted that there is a guided version of therapeutic forest bathing called forest therapy. The practice of forest therapy is done (in groups or individually) in the presence of a certified practitioner and brings additional health benefits.
Forest therapy is an emerging health care intervention.
Trainers: Emmett Phil Coriat, pharmacist, certified forest therapy practitioner, and co-founder of Prescri-Nature collective of healthcare professionals in Quebec. In addition, another certified forest therapy practitioner or shinrin yoku guide from the Natural Leadership team will join as a trainer for this course.
